Is God's Judgment Future? by Pastor Dan Maines

How could Christ's final judgments in 70 AD apply to all future generations?

The bible tells us, He died once for all sin. Now in Heb. 9:28 He tells us, He will/has returned a second time apart from sin, but for Salvation.

Born again believers after 70 AD have our salvation fully consummated. We are securely and eternally in Christ. We do not have to go through the resurrection and judgment as the pre 70 saints did. We are permanently indwelt by the Holy Spirit and have a fully consummated eternal life in Christ.

God is eternal, sovereign, all knowing, all powerful, everywhere and present. He is not limited to time. He is past present future all at the same time. God knew us before the foundations of the earth and when we were born again. He knows our entire life now and in the kingdom. Nothing is outside His sight or control.

God chose the time of His second coming Parousia in the first century generation. He chose His Apostles at a point in all human history when His final judgments would be determined and carried out for everyone.

Matt.12:41; Matt.23:36; Matt.24:34

All Repented believers in history have their names written in the Book of Life and are awarded eternal life in the presence of Christ in the New Jerusalem forever. Rev.21:27

All born again believing, repenting Christians, who are in the body of Christ which is in a spiritual Kingdom, living as humans on earth, having their names written in the Book of Life, When they die, will inherit the Heavenly Kingdom.  And anyone not found written in the Book of Life was cast into the lake of fire. Rev.20:15

Jesus was crucified, buried, rose again, and ascended into the heavenly holy of holies in 30 AD. He provided an eternal atonement for the sins of all Christians past, present, and future.

Heb.9:24; Heb.9:26
Christ's second coming Parousia in 66-70 AD brought consummation of salvation for all of His elect (past, present, and future). Heb.9:28 the Holy Spirit indicating this, that the way into the Holiest of All was not yet made manifest while the first tabernacle was still standing. (Heb.9:8). The first tabernacle had to be destroyed so that we could enter the Holiest of all presence of God in heaven. Christ accomplished this as part of His final judgments with the total destruction of the temple in His outpouring of wrath against non believing Israel by the Roman armies in 70 AD.

Christ's judgments for all mankind were finished in the first century generation of His Apostles in 70 AD. At that time the Lord said that the final determination of the eternal status of "unjust and filthy" or "righteous and holy" for everyone was established. See Rev.22:10-11

If Christ returned in the first century, as He and the Apostles said He would, then He fulfilled all prophecies. Believers that dissmiss this, misunderstand their salvation Our understanding of fulfilled prophecy directly impacts our entire understanding of the Word of God.

Christ accomplished the atonement for the sins of all believeing Christians (past & future). He died on the Cross and rose again from the grave in victory over death. He ascended into the heavenly Holy of Holies to complete the atonement for our sins.

Acts 1:8; 2:4; 2:16-18 Tells us the Holy Spirit was sent to the believers at Pentecost in 30AD The first century saints were "sealed" with the Holy Spirit for the day of redemption. This was a down payment for them and them only until His second coming. Eph.4:30; 2 Cor.1:22

When Christ came back out of the heavenly Holy of Holies, at His second coming Parousia in 66-70 AD, that's when anyone's salvation was fully consummated. (Heb.9:28)

Many today live under false belief about the timing of His second coming. Many try to comfort one another by teaching that He is coming soon. They use these verses 1 Thess.4:15-18 The New Covenant kingdom has been left out and forgotten because of the belief that Jesus is coming soon. They thinks it's for the redemption of our body and use Rom.8:23 This ignores all that Christ has accomplished and taught. It has impacted the way we understand the bible.

Christians, that believe the Jesus will return in the future in a future, do not realize that the adoption and redemption have been fulfilled for all of us after His second coming Parousia in 70ad. Futurism teaches that "redemption draweth nigh" for believers (Luke 21:28). Futurists believe that their completed redemption is near at the "soon" coming of Christ in their lifetimes. We are living our lives in the New Covenant spiritual kingdom, in Christ.  When we die, at that time we immediately put on our new incorruptible, immortal, glorified, visible, spiritual, individual, heavenly bodies and spend eternity in the presence of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ (1 Cor.15:53-54; 2 Cor.5:1-4).

We are to worship and glorify Christ for what He has already accomplished. We should love our neighbor; spread the gospel message; continue to grow in the grace and knowledge of Jesus Christ; teach the Scriptures truthfully.

The Apostle Peter wrote in 63 AD that the first century saints were kept by the power of God through faith. They were looking for salvation that was ready to be revealed at Christ's second coming in their generation. This was at the time that the Jewish age was coming to an end. For a little while they were experiencing great trials and persecutions from the unbelieving Jews and Romans. Their genuine faith that was being tested was precious to God. The result for them was the full salvation of their souls, which occurred at Christ's Parousia in 66-70 AD. (1 Pet.1:5-9).
