Jesus came to fix spiritual death.  by Pastor Dan Maines

Jesus came to fix spiritual death not physical death.

1 Corinthians 15:51-56
51 Behold, I tell you a mystery: We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed

(Not all of them would sleep (die) and await a resurrection, but some of them would be alive during and after Christ coming and those would be changed.)

52 in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet. For the trumpet will sound, and the dead will be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.

(After the trumps sounds those who were physically dead would have their souls-spirits be raised incorruptible and those who were still alive physically would be changed, so that their souls would never stay in the grave, but go from this body to a celestial one and go from earth to heaven when their physical bodies perished)

53 For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality.

(Corruptible were the ones physically dead that were putting on in corruption and those mortal who were physically alive who were given immortality.)

54 So when this corruptible (Those who were physically dead) has put on incorruption (Immortality), and this mortal (Those physically alive) has put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written: "Death (spiritual death) is swallowed up in victory."

55 "O Death (spiritual death), where is your sting?
O Hades, where is your victory?" (O grave, where is your victory for those who had physically died and were waiting for the last day resurrection of their (spirits-souls))

56 The sting of (spiritual) death is sin, and the strength of sin is the law.

It all started the garden of Eden. Sin caused Adam and Eve to die spiritually.

God told Adam and Eve that in the very day they ate from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil that they would die. Satan said in the day that you eat of it, you shall not surly die. They did not die physically in that day. That means that God was right and Satan was wrong, because in that day they died spiritually. That is what Jesus came to fix. Not physical death, but spiritual death. It isn't death when you're spirit/soul doesn't die, but goes from this body to a spiritual body. When they spiritually died by eating of the forbidden tree their spirit died and that caused them to stay in the ground. Even Jesus called death "sleep." That is because he knew it wasn't permeate. He knew he would die for sin and break the curse of spiritual death causing their spirits to be resurrected into heaven with him. He didn't look at what humans called death as death, but sleep which was temporary.

Read Mark 5:39-43 ; John 11:11-14

The reason Jesus physically resurrected himself was because he had to go to the grave and take back the keys from death, hell and the grave, so that no longer did his people have to stay in the ground. Now they could go to the other side. That is why the bible has so many scriptures about his people and in being resurrected into him. That was the first resurrection which was salvation. There was only one resurrection of the dead and that took place at the last day. Where everyone was resurrected. There were very few that came up from the grave when Jesus did, but it was not considered a resurrection. It was considered a wave offering. It represented a spiritual wave offering that under the old testament was when they would take a handful of wheat and wave it before the Lord as a form of worship. Praising him for the large harvest that was about to come soon.

Jesus was physically resurrected so that through salvation everyone can be resurrected into him.

When Adam and Eve ate from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil when they died it was a spiritual death. They later died physically until the last day resurrection where their spirits/souls would be resurrected. Once Jesus came and died he broke the curse and people could be saved brought back to spiritual life through salvation that was the 1st resurrection and the last day resurrection happened in 70 A.D when the soul/spirits of the physical dead were resurrected. Now when you get saved and you physically die your soul/spirit continues living with Christ in the heavens.
They were dead spiritually. When they repented of their sins. Then were spiritually baptized spiritually (buried) to the flesh and resurrected spiritually to life through Jesus Christ.

How shall we who died (spiritually) to sin live any longer in it? Rom 6:2

"Likewise consider yourselves to be DEAD (spiritually to the flesh) indeed to sin, but alive (spiritually) to God through Jesus Christ our Lord." Rom 6:11

"And you He has made alive (spiritually), who were DEAD (spiritually) in trespasses and sins." Eph 2:1

"He loved us even when we were DEAD (spiritually) in sins...".. Eph 2:5

"And you, being DEAD (spiritually) in your sins...He has made alive (spiritually) together with Him." Col 2:13

"...that we being DEAD (spiritually) to sins, should live unto righteousness..." Peter 2:24

Adam was made in the spiritual image of God, but once he fell it called for Jesus who was in the exact spiritual image of God the second Adam to come and undo what the first Adam had done. Adam caused the fall by eating from the forbidden tree and that is why Jesus had to come and die on a tree becoming a curse for us to break the curse. Eve the wife of Adam was taken out of his side and the church, the bride of Jesus was taken from the side of Jesus when he was speared and water came out of his side mixed with blood. This is because sinners when buried in the water and blood came up his people (church.)
