The bible tells us Jesus would never leave us. So, why does He need to return when He never left in the first place? The truth is Jesus still comes, many times and in many different ways as He has done throughout both the Old and New Testaments. The coming of Christ does not refer to just one or two historical events. Nor is there such terminology in the Bible as a "final coming" or "last coming" in a world, kingdom, and Christian age that are all without end.
Some Christians believe both righteous and unrighteous sleep in there grave until the resurrection. They flat out admit they teach that the soul/spirit is nonexistent during that time between death and the resurrection. As we shown in our last study, they grab a few verses out of thin air and tell you there it is. Not only did we show 'soul sleep' to be bogus, this time we are going to clearly show that the souls/spirits of the dead in the days before and after Christ's resurrection were "conscious" or "alive" in the unseen spiritual realm.
How could they possibly be deceived about Jesus' arrival? If the whole earth is going to be burned up wouldn't they notice Jesus' return? If the Second Coming was, as most view it today, Paul could have just said, 'Look out the window, the earth is still here, so the Lord has obviously not come.' They thought Jesus had already come, They had no relief. so they must have viewed the nature of the Second Coming differently than most people today view it.
Are we to take this literally? Did Paul mean there would be rising floating flying human bodies into the atmosphere? Were you taught that? I was. And it still bothers me that others still believe and teach this. Do you really think Jesus flies in like Superman? and we join Him in the clouds? Does this even sound logical? This goes against the principles to determine truth, in the bible. Did God reveal this to you or did man? In previous studies we learned that biblical knowledge only comes from God. So why do we believe man telling us that Jesus flies in the air. We know that Jesus just appears when we thinks it.
Yes, I to was taught that we get a mansion in heaven. We even joked around by calling it our Condo. When I left religion and started studying truth, I found out that 98% of what I was taught was wrong. Here again the KJV has mistranslated the word "mansions" Many versions of the bible have corrected this. Even the NKJV is trying to correct the mistake by changing the word to "dwellings". Before we look at the NKJV let's review the Greek word here translated as "mansions". The Greek word is "mone." and according to the Strong's Concordance it means
Throughout the Scriptures heaven is equated with the dwelling place of God, which is holiness and righteousness. Throughout Scripture God's people are called God's tabernacle (Revelation 21); God's habitation (Psalm 132); and God's rest (Psalm132 and Zephaniah 3). Through a careful study of God's dwelling we can find that it was God's desire all along to DWELL IN US, REST IN US, and make US His eternal habitation. But keep in mind that righteousness and holiness were the foundation of His throne. They still are. It's just that we have now become that righteousness and holiness. Heaven was where God dwelled. It still is. It's just that we have become heaven, which is why the Scriptures teach that in the New Covenant "the heavens declare the glory of God" (Psalm 19:1-6). The question remains: If we have all of this now, how does this translate into a proper view of "the afterlife"? In other words, how does this translate into a hopeful view of the afterlife? Keep in mind, it's "US" that makes up the body of Christ, His Kingdom the New Jerusalem.
'Flesh and blood has not revealed this to you, but my Father who is in heaven'. Mt. 16:17 You will know that Christ has returned when He reveals it to you in your heart. It cannot be taught by man. The return of Christ, appears in your heart and comes as 'a thief in the night', because His unveiling is an inconspicuous experience. (not clearly visible or attracting attention) It is as intimate as the consummation (completion) of the marriage of Lamb.
When Christians get married (obedient Christians) they become ONE. NOT one believer and one non believer. NOT two non believers. If you're not a Christian you do not become ONE. Your marriage is not blessed by God. Getting straight to the point, the spouse that you will be with in heaven will be the one whom God as joined together. When God blesses a marriage He makes two human beings into one. In this spiritual union, God brings the two souls, hearts, and minds into one.
The concept of Hell can't possibly be true. I cannot imagine how anyone came up with something so horrific. The terrible pain of burning in fire, while fully conscious is made up by man, not God. It would take greed to inflict that on anyone. That cannot be God. How could such cruelty and sadism be consistent with a God of love? I don't buy it for a minute.
Everyone of us have walked 'through the valley of the shadow of of death.' It could be by an addiction, feeling sorry for yourself, even feeling alone. It may seem like our prayers are unanswered leaving us discouraged and depressed. These are 'death valley' experiences. But it's not our feelings that determine our relationship with God.
We can show what El Shaddai means by reading anyone of the seven verses shown in the bible take Genesis 17:1 for example. Abraham is 99 years old who is told by God El Shaddai that he and his wife will have a child. In all of Abrahams doubts God has to say to him by calling himself El Shaddai. Basically God is saying "look Abraham I am the El Shaddai, if I speak it, it will happen. Ya know why Abraham? because I am El Shaddai. So let me ask you who or what could El Shaddai be? The only person speaking to Abraham is the "Almighty God"
For me grace is everything and I consider all topics in the text of grace. Because of God's Grace, we are all where we are in our faith. You either have it or you don't. We do not earn God's favor by all the good deeds we do. We earn God's favor being in Christ, then we are righteous in His sight and only then, His grace will empower us to be more effective. Once we know we cannot do anything worth while with out Him, His grace will flow upon us.
Many Christians and non Christians were taught that the world would come to and end at the second coming of Jesus. I can tell you right now that the bible says nothing about the world coming to and end physically. The only thing that come to an end is the old covenant world. I'll get straight to the point.
We will be looking at what's stored in our heart. The bible tells us in so many words that our heart is for storage. I believe the heart is the hard drive of treasure we take to heaven. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also. Matthew 6:21 The bible tells us we're born with and evil heart (Genesis 8:21) and only the righteous man is taken away from evil. (Isaiah 57:1) We're told that Deceit is in the heart (Proverbs 12:20) and Evil is in the heart. But then we're told "The one who believes in the Son of God has the testimony in himself" Where? in his heart, the hard drive. When we except Jesus into our lives He gives us a new heart (Ezekiel 36:26) He even writes on our heart. (Hebrews 8:10, 10:16)
Most churches teach there is no marriage in heaven. They will use "neither marry and are given in marriage" and tell you, see there is no marriage in heaven. That's how some of them make their doctrine, out of context. The story about the seven brothers and the wife is not about marriage in heaven. It's about the resurrection. It's not about heaven at all. It's about the resurrection that was to occur at the changing of the ages. (the Old Covenant age and the New Covenant age)
How often do we see people and judge them by their appearance? Based on how they look, we put judgmental labels on everyone we come across. Do you ever catch yourself thinking "That person wearing clothes like that is just wrong?" It may be an eye sore for some but that person could carry Jesus in his/her heart even more than some of us do.
Part 1
Baptism - Water Baptism
Part 2
Baptism - Spirit Baptism - Baptism of the Holy Spirit
Who does the baptizing? Jesus. Who is the agent? The Holy Spirit. It is not the baptism 'of' the Holy Spirit, but the baptism with/by the Holy Spirit. When does it take place? The moment we are saved, we are baptized with the Holy Spirit, we don't do anything to receive it except believe the Gospel.
We cannot be half hearted Christians. Obedience is all the time. Giving your life to God is not a part time commitment. Either you do or you don't. Jesus tells us to repent and turn away from sin to be saved. So! the people out there that believe the 1st century Christians did all the work for us to have Salvation, and a free ticket to heaven are WRONG!
Jesus said, "If you love me, keep my commandments (John 14:15). Keeping the commands of Jesus begins with recognizing what they are. Following is a collection of Jesus' commands. As we read through them, let's ask God to help us observe these words, apply them, and faithfully follow them throughout our lives.
If you love Me, you will keep My commandments. John 14:15 Jesus was most definitely not referring to the 10 commandment because He has already fulfilled those. John 15:10 "If you keep My commandments, you will abide in My love, just as I have kept My Father's commandments and abide in His love." Jesus new commandment to us is in John 13:34-35 "A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another; as I have loved you, that you also love one another. By this all will know that you are My disciples, if you have love for one another."
Are we to dismiss 2 Corinthians 5:10 as fulfilled? How can we? I believe every Christian has to have some kind of judgment. If not How can one receive any reward, in this life or the afterlife? Are we saying life on this earth goes unrewarded or unpunished? I don't think so. Even in the afterlife we are rewarded so why would there be no judgment. One can not receive a reward if not judged right?
Matthew, Mark and Luke are usually known as the Synoptic Gospels. The Greek word for Synoptic means 'to be seen together' The gospels speak of the same events in Jesus' life. There are additions and omissions in each of them. One important one is The Olivet Discourse in not even mentioned in Johns Epistle. Do you know why? It's because he writes about it in Revelation. We must compare what each of the Gospels say to find agreement.
Is New Jerusalem of Revelation 21 to be taken literally? If it was, it would be a real city prepared by God that has a length, width, and height of 12,000 furlongs/stadia-about 1,380 miles. Supposedly, It descends out of heaven to come to rest over the earth. It has literal foundation stones. Some even believe that the New Jerusalem replaces the earth. With all due respect, none of this can be true. It science fiction. If this were not taught in Christian churches, it would be considered cultic. If you decide to take everything in the Bible literally, then you will misunderstand the Hebraic figures of speech, and ignoring the critical context that restricts the timing of events in Revelation.
What are you waiting for? Heaven and earth have already passed away. You cannot see a spiritual kingdom with physical eyes. We walk by faith, not by sight. 2 Corinthians 5:7 The kingdom cannot be observed, it is in you. Luke 17:20 Unless you're a born again Christian, you will not be able to see the kingdom. John 3:3 Christians today want to see a physical king and a physical kingdom when Scripture teaches that the kingdom is spiritual. Those that look for a physical kingdom are missing the point of Matthew 23:39 For I tell you, you will not see me again, until you say, 'Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord.'" See also Luke 13:3
Those that deny were in the Kingdom now seem to to pull two verses out of context and use Matthew 24:36 and 2 Peter 3:8 only because that's what their church taught them. They say "yes the kingdom is coming soon, But God's timing is different than ours. One day is with the Lord as a thousand years and a thousand years is as a day. God doesn't see time as we do." Some take it further and say "no one knows the day or the hour" I have heard others say Oh that's for Spiritual Israel" like they know what their talking about. People that use the above verses to counter the fulfilled view of eschatology, grab these verse out of thin air and completely out of its context without knowing what the verses mean. Then they think that's enough to close off all discussion.
There is much debate about Jesus handing over the Kingdom to the father. Why would He do that? Does the Bible really say that? Many people don't even believe that the Kingdom of God is present today. Their looking for a physical kingdom on earth. They just don't get it. Jesus refused to be King when the multitudes attempted to take him by force and make him a king. (John 6:15) And there was the time when Satan offered Him all the kingdoms of the world if he would only bow down and worship him. (Matthew 4:10) If Jesus wanted to be a King of a physical Kingdom, you would have seen it. Do you see it? No.
Daniel 2 tells us Nebuchadnezzar dream implies that Christ's kingdom will grow into its fullness. It's not going to suddenly appear over the whole face of the earth. Verse 35 says that Christ's kingdom (5th kingdom) starts as only a stone when it strikes the feet of the image becomes a great mountain that fills the earth. This stone, Jesus' kingdom became a great mountain and filled the whole earth. This shows a gradual growth of the Kingdom. Jesus being the stone does not allow for the sudden appearance of a Christ's kingdom. Why? because its without observation. The great mountain is the start of the church, which is ongoing today, and will never end.
The Transition Period began on Pentecost in A.D. 30, with the birth of the Church, and it ended at the destruction of the Jewish Temple in A.D. 70, which ended the Old Covenant Age. During the Transition Period the Church was growing from infancy to maturity. God worked in the growing Church through miraculous gifts and spoke to His prophets to bring His Church to maturity. A spiritual house was being built in which God would dwell. This was a time of change and growth, it was a time of transformation from the Old to the New. The old things of Judaism, the Old Covenant, faded out very slowly, and the New Covenant gradually phased in. It was a changing of the ages.
Furthermore, Jesus even said that there would be some who would
not taste death until they had seen Jesus come in His kingdom.
So how did Jesus' audience interpret His words? How did the
churches interpret the apostles letters warning them of the
nearness of the return of Christ? If it was not to take place
for over 2,000 years, wouldn't the apostles be alive and well
over 2,000 year old? Let's look at the audience of Jesus.
Let me start by saying Jesus commissioned the twelve disciples,
not you and I, as most believe. I'm not saying we don't need to
spread the gospel. I want to prove one point to back up another.
Jesus directed His commission specifically to the disciples.

Most futurists claim we are in the last days based on certain events that are taking place throughout the world. Their taught that Jesus is about to come and predictions are made based on the news. They interpret the time statements with the thousand-year-as-a-day hermeneutic but forget to apply it to the phrase "last days" as it appears in Scripture. The futurists has to us this hermeneutic to keep the excitement going of Christ's Return. At the same time they say you can't take the time statements literally. By doing this they are unable to defend other Scriptures that support the same idea. If we interpret the time statements to not mean what they say, then we loose all meaning of God's teaching of time.
Many Christians are taught that the resurrection is physical and it will actually happen on earth. They claim the dead are raised in earthly bodies. They use Romans 8:11 , Job 19:25-26 and Ezekiel 37:1-14 as their proof. After reading these verses, one might be easily tempted to believe that at the resurrection, the departed saints are to receive glorified, eternal earthly bodies. Romans 8:11 and Job 19:25-26 leave two possible interpretations. The first, This verse may suggest that the Spirit of God will raise the dead, the departed will come out of their graves by taking on their old flesh again. Second, This verse may suggest that the dead will be raised to receive new resurrection bodies to replace the old mortal ones.
Examine the Scriptures to find truth in what you're told. The Greek word for "examine" is "anakrino", it means to investigate. Don't think man's teaching is correct. Jesus is the only one you can learn from, He speaks to us from the bible. Scripture alone is the final judge of all teaching. The Bible is self revelation from God in Christ. If we are going to know God, we must learn from Him from the Scriptures. We must have a plan to read the bible. Then you will make progress. If you don't have no plan, then you will never read the bible. Everybody wants a shortcut to Bible knowledge. True knowledge comes from reading scripture over and over. By doing that you will find patterns, one, being everything points to Christ, two, everything points to the Destruction of Jerusalem.
Two Charts that show This Generation, Last days and Age to Come with Scripture. Charts show from 26 AD to 70 AD. Great study! Print them. Each chart is a single page. I think you will be amazed.
Let's Describe Ages and World, This Age, That Age, The Jewish Age, The Old Convent age, New covenant Age, The End of the Age, The End of the World. The Last days or End Times. There are three Age's describe in the bible. The Patriarchal Age, The Mosaic Age and The Christian Age. All of the Age's represent time.
At hand, near, soon, about to be, time is near, coming quickly etc.
The Old Testament covers many hundreds of years, the New Testament covers less than one century. If you add up all the "Adam begat Seth when he was 130 years old, and Seth begat... etc" and add them all together, and put that together with the lineage of Jesus in Matthew, you can calculate the time since creation to now and you get a 6000+ year timeline - from creation to today.
The Context of Matthew 24 is the destruction of Jerusalem in 70 AD. In Matthew 21-23 Jesus said The Kingdom of God would be taken away from the Jews. He pronounced woes on the scribes and Pharisees. There are seven or eight woes in chapter 23 alone. One being, Jesus said that Jerusalem would be judged. And then He continues in chapter 24 and says not one stone would be left on another, meaning the temple in Jerusalem would be destroyed. He was talking to His disciples telling them Jerusalem will be literally destroyed. And it was in 70 AD. The Olivet Discourse has nothing to do with our future.
As we can see, "all nations", "all kingdoms, all the earth, "all countries" and "all the world" are in the first century geographical area. It was limited to the area they only knew. They knew nothing about America. We have to be careful how we use "all" and "every". All of their land, meant all of the earth to the first century Christians. All of the earth to them was a habitated area.
The rumors of wars Jesus was talking about was in the last days, "This Age". We now live in the "That Age" (Christian Age). There would never be a greater war in "this age" Jesus' century. It's not talking about for all of eternity. The end came in AD 70.
Scripture tells us Jesus will come the same way the Father did. Which was never referred to a physical, literal return of the Lord. After 70 AD, How may times has the Lord made His presence know by judgments (parousia)? There's no more bible to tell us. What we do know is every time The Lord came, He used another nation to overtake another right?. Do you see the pattern here. Do you think the Lord stopped coming in judgment on nations or countries and people?
The reason Jesus physically resurrected himself was because he had to go to the grave and take back the keys from death, hell and the grave, so that no longer did his people have to stay in the ground. Now they could go to the other side. That is why the bible has so many scriptures about his people and in being resurrected into him. That was the first resurrection which was salvation. There was only one resurrection of the dead and that took place at the last day. Where everyone was resurrected. There were very few that came up from the grave when Jesus did, but it was not considered a resurrection. It was considered a wave offering. It represented a spiritual wave offering that under the old testament was when they would take a handful of wheat and wave it before the Lord as a form of worship. Praising him for the large harvest that was about to come soon.
If the term "Abomination of Desolation" brings joy to a person they have truth in them. They do not believe in a rapture or a so called Second Coming. It really gets to me when people read Christian books over their bible. They try and gain the insight of the writer and miss the whole point of the original message. Futurist have fear and they have to justify for judgment and God's wrath. Then There are others that have commentators in their bible and claim that must be right because he/she said so. Let me tell you something, having commentators in your bible will complicate truth. If you have one get rid of it. There are many endtime scenarios that only lead to fear. I hear people saying "I pray Jesus comes soon to end this world." By this you know this person doesn't know the truth. So, is the Abomination of Desolation a time of the end? or a time now in the past?.
The Greek word for "coming" is "parousia." This Greek word means "arrival or presence," it does not mean "return." The bible never speaks of a future physical return of Christ. Other than the Tanakh, the disciples knew of one "parousia" the destruction of Jerusalem. "The day of the Lord" was never referred to a physical, literal return of the Lord. "The day of the Lord" has always referred to the Lord's judgment upon a city or nation of people. It refers to a destruction from God Almighty: "The day of the Lord" and "the Lord riding on a swift cloud refers to judgment
On this Easter Sunday we are looking at scripture from prophecy in the Tanakh to the death burial and resurrection. Before the world began, God had a plan all along. It was to bring redemption through Christ to all those who would choose to believe and follow after Him (1 Peter 1:19-20). God knew we needed a Savior even before Adam sinned. He knew we would need to be set free of sin so He could continue talking to us.. And He made a way, by sending His One and Only Son, so that we could receive forgiveness and find new life and hope through Him (John 3:16).
As soon as they finish shattering the power of the holy people, all these events will be completed. All what events will be completed? The Great Tribulation in verse 1; The Resurrection in verse 2; many being turned to righteousness in verse 3; and the shattering the power of the holy people. So all these events will be completed when the power of the holy people is shattered. So when does that happen? Is it at the end of time as verse 4 says? Who are the holy people? In context it is Daniel's people, which are the Israelites. So when was it that the Israelites' power was completely shattered? It was during the great tribulation when the Temple and the city of Jerusalem were destroyed.
This is where Satan, demons, and unclean spirits came from. I believe they were real spirit beings that no longer exist today. I will tell you right now, most people claim Satan, demons, and unclean spirits do exist today. I will show scripture, why they do not exist. And when they were destroyed. God's Divine Council consist of Angels, Sons of God, Holy Ones, Watchers, Morning stars and more.
Since these words were written around 65 AD, how long is SHORT to whom it was written Rev 1:4? The book of Revelation was not written to people in the 21stcentury. It was written to the 7churches in Asia 1:4. The things in the book are said to be near, will soon take place, are at hand, will happen in a short time... so, part of the book 20:10 mentions the devil being thrown into the lake of fire; did it happen? Yes!
